Few days ago, Rich Bizzy, Shenky and Chester released songs for different political parties. One song was sang for Hakainde Hichilema whose the leader and candidate for United Party for National Development (UPND). The other song was sang for Brian Mundubile leader and candidate for National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity (NRPUP) and its running mate is Makebi Zulu.
Today, the three artists have said they have been banned from performing at shows. Rich Bizzy has issued a statement about it which can be read through on his Facebook page. To summarize everything his said, he says musician should have equal opportunities even when they support different parties. Performing at an opposition political rally should not be grounds for exclusion from government-sponsored events.
Rich Bizzy also said music is business like any other business and should be treated like one. He further said he does not make music that has insults but is respectful. In conclusion, he said music should promote unity among different supporters and not create division.
