Approximately 400 videos have leaked on social media showing President Teodoro Obiang Nguema’s nephew, the director of Equatorial Guinea’s tax administration,Baltasar Engonga with wives and daughters of ministers, dignitaries and generals. The videos show Baltasar Engonga engaging in sexual acts with various women, often in what appears to be his own office, occasionally with the Equatorial Guinean flag in the background. Baltasar Ebang Engonga also known in Malabo as “Bello” has been arrested for this. The recordings were reportedly consensual but have since been leaked online, leading to widespread public outrage and intense scrutiny from local media. Reports by Ahora EG describe the revelations as unprecedented in the country’s history, exposing what it called “flagrant violations” of ethical standards by a senior public official.
